Patricia “Tricia” Hoppe

Patricia A. Hoppe, 68, of Pierson, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church, rural Correctionville, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with family present during this time, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa. Tricia was born on January 3rd, 1948 to Elmer C.F. Ewert and Lillie Emma (Herbold) Ewert, in Sioux City, Iowa. Tricia graduated high school at Kingsley-Pierson and from there pursued a very extensive medical career. She retired as a Nurse Practitioner from MD Anderson Cancer Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

Tricia married John Hoppe on August 14, 2015 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Tricia was a very active volunteer in the Pierson and surrounding area. Her faith and love for Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville was displayed in so many ways.

Tricia most enjoyed spending time at home on the farm with her pet family of dogs, miniature horses, miniature donkeys and alpacas.

Tricia is survived by her loving husband John; sisters, Karen Lund and Barb Ewert; step children, Colin (Elizabeth) Hoppe, Jacqueline (Jordan) Bird, and Catelyn Hoppe; nephews Terry (Tonya) Lund and Tracy Lund; grand-nephew, Drake Lund; mother-in-law, Connie Hoppe; numerous brother and sisters-in-law; and special friends Marla Luitjens and Ted Herbold.

She is preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Frank Hoppe

Memorials may be made to the Salem Lutheran Kitchen Fund or the Sioux City Humane Society.
