Frances (Ryan) Lewis
Frances (Ryan) Lewis, 75, of Redding, California, formerly of Hornick, died Monday, August 8, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
A celebration of life service was held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Salix, Iowa. Local arrangements are under the direction of Becker–Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.
Frances was born on Oct. 8, 1940 to John and Mary (Schimberg) Ryan in Iowa. She graduated from Holly Springs-Hornick High School in 1959. She moved to California and married Richard Lewis of Anthon, Iowa in 1963.
Frances was employed at lumber mills in Red Bluff and Anderson, California for many years. She retired several years ago. Frances enjoyed spending time with family, dancing and playing cards.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Lewis and Keith (Terri) Lewis; five grandchildren; and seven siblings: Evelyn Roseland of Paullina, Iowa; Ann (Richard) Hinrickson of Rodney, Iowa; Alice Seehusen of Onawa, Iowa; Jerry (Loretta) Ryan of Burrton, Kansas; Marry Krutz of Adrian, Michigan; Marguerite (Leonard) Cain of Hubbard, Nebraska; and Dennis (Nan) Ryan of Moline, Illinois.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William and Jim Ryan.
Memorials may be directed to cancer research or to Hospice of Siouxland.
