Robert L. Freeman, 72, of Cushing, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Kenny Hsu of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Robert L. Freeman was born on April 17, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of James and Francis (Snyder) Freeman. Robert graduated from high school and attended trade school for plumbing.

He married Patricia Cardwell on Feb. 18, 1995 in Jefferson, S.D. Mr. Freeman was self-employed as a master plumber, doing plumbing, heating and air conditioning work in the Sioux City area.

Mr. Freeman was a member of the Local Plumber’s Union 234c. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, tinkering with items, watching westerns, Animal Planet, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Patricia of Cushing; two sons, Jeff Cardwell and Jim and Molly Pederson; three daughters, Julie A. Bell and her husband, Shaun Sarff; Michele Pederson and her fiance, Jeff Combs; and Marcia Mathison and her husband, Bob; one brother, Mike Freeman and his wife, Karen of St. Martins, Mo.; five stepchildren; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patti; and two brothers, James and Bill Freeman.
