Peggy DeSarbo
Mary Jane “Peggy” Kniseley DeSarbo, 94, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Zion Cemetery in Boody, Illinois. Peggy was born in Kingsley, Iowa, December 13, 1921 to John Scott and Ruth (Nash) Kniseley. She graduated from Kingsley High School in 1942.
She lived in several states throughout her life, including Iowa, Utah, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Illinois. She often worked in the food industry.
Peggy enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing cards, and laughter with friends and family. She enjoyed returning to Kingsley for the Nash family reunions held in the city park, where family members looked forward to sharing the delicious food that she and her sister would bring.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny DeSarbo, in 1977; her brothers, John Scott “Jackie” and William “Bill” and his wife Ruth (Black) Kniseley; and her sisters, Darlene (in infancy) and Theoan and her husband R.E. “Bill” Rector.
