Darrell Jensen

Darrell Jensen, 81, of Lawton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton. Burial was at the Banner Township Cemetery in Lawton. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Darrell was born on July 3, 1935  in rural Deuel County near Clear Lake, South Dakota to Jesse and Ruth (Crocker) Jensen. He grew up in the Clear Lake and Brandt, South Dakota area.

Darrell married Audrey Ingalls on February 14. 1955. They had just celebrated their 62nd anniversary. To this union, five children were born.

Darrell farmed and raised buffalo with his dad until 1962, when his father passed away. In the following years, he became a farm hand for several different ranches and cattle companies, bringing him to the Kingsley and Lawton area. Darrell retired after owning Jens’s Skid Loader and Fencing business.

Darrell was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, visiting with friends, and anything buffalo.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Audrey; his daughters: Danita (Eugene) Wenzel, Babby (Perry) Ludwig, Sue (Joel) Stilwell, and Paula (Terry) Ludwig; his son, Dana; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Rhodes; a brother-in-law, Harold and Mary Jane Ingalls; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Howard and Edna Ingalls; his sister, Judy Kilpatrick; and his nephew, Dallas Kilpatrick.
