Lisa Derby, 57, from Kingsley, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in Kingsley.

Lisa LuAnn Derby was born October 26, 1959, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Craig and Sue (Hogue) Dorr. She grew up in Marcus, Iowa, graduating from Marcus High School in 1978.
After high school, Lisa pursued her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Morningside College, graduating with honors (summa cum laude) in 1982.
On May 16, 1981, she married Terry Derby in Marcus, Iowa. After their marriage, Lisa worked as a registered nurse for St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City. She and Terry made their home in Kingsley, where they raised their family.
Lisa was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Terry of Kingsley; two sons: Justin Derby (Amy Dieren) of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Joshua (Lacey) Derby of Kingsley; two grandchildren; her parents, Craig and Sue Dorr of Marcus; and two brothers, Bob (Patience) Dorr of Dakota Dunes, and Tim (Pat) Dorr of Rockford, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
