Luella Crocker
Luella A. Crocker, 101, of rural Correctionville, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning, February 21, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Bob Blair officiated. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
Luella was born on June 29, 1915, rural Marcus, Iowa to George & Clara Peters. She graduated from Marcus High School in 1934 and then attended Westmar College for two years. She taught country school in Plymouth County for 17 years.
Luella was married to Harold M. Crocker on July 11, 1950 at Slayton, Minnesota. She and Harold farmed southwest of Washta for many years. She continued to live on the farm after their retirement.
Being with family was Luella’s number one priority. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing cards.
She is survived by her two children: Carol (Richard) Peterson of Garner, Iowa and Clarke (Elizabeth) Crocker of Washta, Iowa; three grandsons and one great granddaughter: Cameron (Audra) Crocker and their daughter Savannah of Marcus, Iowa; Aaron Crocker of Sioux Center, Iowa; and Colton Crocker of Washta, Iowa; two step-grandchildren and their families: Gina (Danny) Cunningham and their children Skylar & Eliza of Perry, Iowa and Daniel (Liz) Peterson and their children, Hailey & Hayden of Denver, Colorado; a sister: Bonnie (Marvin) Zoch of Cherokee, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold on February 8, 2005; a step-great-grandson, Declan Cunningham; and sisters and brothers and their spouses: LaVon and Louis Kappler, Wesley Peters, Arlene and Charles Molitor, Verlin and Joan Peters.
