Donna Eldridge
Donna M. Eldridge, 83, of Kingsley, passed away, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Kingsley Speciality Care in Kingsley, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, Iowa, with Rev. Duane Miesner officiating. Burial was at Kingsley Cemetery.
Donna May Lau was born March 4, 1933 in Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of George C. & Lydia M. (Wetrosky) Lau. She grew up in the Kingsley area, graduating from Kingsley High School in 1951.
On December 11, 1953, she married Wallace Eldridge at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She and Wallace made their home in Kingsley, where they raised their family.
Donna worked at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley for several years before retiring. She also cleaned houses for people. Her husband, Wallace, passed away on July 4, 1981.
Donna was a member of the Kingsley First Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society, where she was Queen for December of 2016.
Survivors include one son, Randall (Monica) Eldridge of Kingsley, and one daughter, Lisa (Robert) Parrish of Cumming, GA; six grandchildren: Amy (Jerry) Grubb; Randy Eldridge and special friend, Amber Nelson; Michael (Tasha) Eldridge; Jennifer (Jeremy) Eickholt; Amber (Chris) Rawlins; Michael Parrish and Sarah Johnson and her fiancée, Walter Grimaldo; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one sister, Kay (James) Wimmer of Kingsley, IA, and one sister-in-law, Frances (Robert) Schmidt of Laclede, MO.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wallace.
