James “Jimmy” Epperson

James C. “Jimmy” Epperson, 78, from Kingsley, formerly of Sioux City, died on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at a care facility in Kingsley.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 24 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

James “Jimmy” Epperson was born May 29, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of William and Mable (Fink) Epperson. Jim worked at Dean Drug for two years before working at Palmer House Restaurant for 29 years.

For the last year, he was a resident at the Kingsley Nursing and Rehab, where he was enjoying singing and talking with the great nursing staff there.

Jimmy liked walking around Sioux City buying lottery tickets, going to movies, eating at restaurants with family, enjoyed listening to Grand Ole Opry, Old Country song, and Gospel music on Sunday mornings.

Jimmy really loved the holidays, especially Christmas.

He is survived by his sister, Louise Preston; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and ex-brother-in-law and friend Kenny Trudell.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Leona Laferiere and Lydia Ford; a brother-in-law, Charles Preston; and a niece Lisa Ford.
