Keith “Tom” Vanderloo, 85, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Akron Care Center in Akron, Iowa.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 6 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa.
Burial was in Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, following a time of lunch and fellowship at the funeral home.

Keith Arlen Vanderloo was born on June 21, 1933, on a farm near Hinton, Iowa, the son of Clarence “CJ” and Irene (Junck) Vanderloo.
He attended school in Merrill and graduated from Merrill High School. He attended Central Annex Trade School in Sioux City, where he learned the machinist trade.
He was united in marriage to Carol Vander Plas on June 29, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton. They made their home in Plymouth County, Iowa.
Keith worked for several Siouxland businesses including Wincharger, Dynatech, Hubbard Feeds, L&R Communications, Advance Industries, Steffen Body, and Broyhill. He also drove truck for Stub Blankenburg for several years. He was also a farm hand for area farmers. After his retirement, he was a driver for Lampe Auto and Larry’s Automotive in Merrill.
Keith was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill. He was also a member of Independent Order of Foresters and the Pioneer Club in Le Mars.
Keith enjoyed playing ball in his younger years, traveling, playing cards, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed watching sports, rebuilding Model T and Model A cars and John Deere tractors, and taking rides in the country.
But most of all, he loved the times spent with his family, children, grandchildren, especially his granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Carol of Merrill; his daughters Kim (Daniel) Kosierowski of Merrill, Karen Gagnon (Rob Wiese) of Merrill, and Lacey Gagnon (Robert Epling) of Moville, Iowa; his grandchildren: Sam (Josh) Hanks, Kelsie (Josh) Nelson, Jessica Vanderloo (Kendrick), Morgyn Gagnon (Abby), Madi Gagnon (Sean), Michael (Katie) Wiese, Michael Harms (Nicole), and Jessica Sherlock (Cody); his great-grandchildren: Cody, Bri, Landen, Cj, Remington, MaKenna Tanner, and Madelyn; his siblings: Virgil (Norma) Vanderloo of Waterloo, Iowa; Stanley Vanderloo of Merrill, Bonnie (Maurice) Blum of Merrill, Curt (Marlene) Vanderloo of Merrill, and Glenda Donlin of Merrill; his in-laws, Patricia Vanderloo of Sioux City, Wendell Blankenburg of Norwalk, Iowa; Leyla (Jim) Schrunk of Le Mars; Duane (Julie) Vander Plas of Le Mars; Verla (Bryce) Van Vark of Pella, Iowa; and Kevin (Twila) Vander Plas of Lubbock, Texas; along with the Denson family and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, CJ and Irene Vanderloo; his siblings, Richard Vanderloo and Jan Blankenburg; and his in-laws, Geraldine Vanderloo and Don Donlin.
