ORDINANCE NO. 244
An Ordinance amending Chapter 13.04,
Section 13.04.010.

Be it ordained and enacted by the City Council of the City of Kingsley, Plymouth County, Iowa, as follows:

Section 1. Amending Chapter. Chapter 13.04, Section 13.04.010 shall read as follows:

Water rates in the city are established as follows:
A. There shall be a minimum charge of seven dollars per month and for this minimum charge the consumer shall be entitled to one thousand gallons of water per month.  For water used per month in excess of one thousand gallons, there shall be an additional charge per month of one dollar and twenty five cents per thousand gallons.
Beginning July 1, 2020, the minimum charge shall increase to nine dollars per month and beginning July 1, 2021, the rate shall increase to eleven dollars per month.

B. Any unmetered water or water used by a consumer while his meter is not operating shall be charged at a rate set by the city council.

C. Everyone receiving water from the city of Kingsley that does not reside in the city limits of the city of Kingsley shall pay one and a half times the water rates paid by residents residing in the city limits of the city of Kingsley.

Section 2.  Repealer.   All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 3.  Effective Date.   This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.

First Reading:  July 1, 2019
Second Reading: August 5, 2019
Third Reading:  September 10, 2019
Passed by the Council on the 10th day of September, 2019 and approved this 10th day of September, 2019.
