Stella Rosauer
Stella Ann Rosauer, age 91, of Anthon, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the MercyOne Siouxland Regional Medical Center of Sioux City, Iowa, due to complications of COVID-19.
A Private Family Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Anthon, Iowa. Msgr. Mark Duchaine officiated. Committal Services followed in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery of Danbury, Iowa.

Stella Ann Rosauer, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Zemanek) Hughes, was born August 6, 1929 in Dubuque, Iowa. She grew up in Dubuque and graduated high school with the class of 1947.
Stella went on to further her education at Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, where she obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1950.
On October 2, 1951, Stella married the love of her life, Norbert A. Rosauer. The couple settled down on a farm north of Danbury, Iowa and in 1964 relocated to a farm southeast of Anthon, Iowa.
The Lord blessed Stella and Norbert with eight children: Joseph, Susan, Jon, Andy, Jane, Diane, Paul, and Beth. The couple retired to town in Anthon in 1980.
Stella was a devout member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Anthon, Iowa.
She treasured her family and continued to check up on them daily. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and watching Jeopardy. She is remembered fondly for her excellent cooking and advice.
Stella passed away on November 20, 2020 at the age of 91, due to complications of COVID-19 virus.
Survivors include her children: Susan Renz (Raymond Steinbacher) of Rapid City, SD; Jon (Cathie) Rosauer of Danbury, IA; Andy (Carrie) Rosauer of Anthon, IA; Jane (Ed) Ortner of Danbury, IA; Diane (Jerry) Vogt of Worthington, MN; Paul Rosauer (Lisa Bogh) of Anthon, IA and Beth (Mike) Brinkerhoff of Yankton, SD; her daughter-in-law Debbie Rosauer of Sioux City, IA; 21 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Clara Hughes; her husband, Norbert Rosauer (2008); her son, Joseph Rosauer (1986); infant twins; her brothers Wilfred “Mickey” Hughes and James Hughes; and her sisters Louise Ledman and Rita Schiltz.
